History
The McKenzie River is named after the early Canadian explorer, Donald McKenzie, who was the first to discover the tributary in 1812. Part of the Pacific Fur Company, McKenzie formed a party to explore the Willamette River, and during the expedition, found the tributary which we now know as the McKenzie River.
The river drains part of the Cascade Range east of Eugene and flows westward into the southernmost end of the Willamette Valley. As of the 21st century, six large dams have been built on the river and its tributaries.
McKenzie River Companies are comprised of two entities: McKenzie River Company Development LLC develops and manages the properties, whereas McKenzie River Company LLC owns the properties.
The McKenzie River Company (MRC) has been established for 15 years, and has functioned as a highly successful commercial development and ownership company. MRCD LLC (McKenzie River Company Development) was established in 2016 to focus on developing and managing properties. McKenzie River Companies are set apart by their small size and attention to detail, making it nimble, forward thinking, and strategic.
